Long-time locals and passionate community builders, Coran and Kirstie are bringing a fresh energy to the Buchan Pub, driven by their belief in the power of social enterprise – a way of doing business that puts people and purpose first.

With deep roots in East Gippsland and a shared love for their hometown, Kirstie and Coran are not just pouring beers – they’re pouring opportunity back into the region.

Their vision? A thriving, inclusive local pub that provides real jobs, skill-building, and a stepping stone for young locals entering the workforce.

But their offering of opportunity doesn’t stop at the bar and bistro. Kirstie and Coran are proudly committed to supporting local growers, makers, and creatives, sourcing produce from nearby fruit and veg and flower growers (check out the gorgeous table displays – and have you noticed a ‘blooming’ improvement in the loos?). They’re also working with local designers and social media mavens to ensure the pub is not just a place to gather, but a showcase of Buchan’s rich talents.

Since taking over in December 2024, the duo have wasted no time making an impact. They've already rolled out exciting events, upgraded the pub’s acoustics for better live entertainment, and are about to unveil a brand-new Winter Menu alongside a special event as part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival.

Whether they’re behind the bar, baking the pub’s delicious new desserts, chatting with locals on our bustling Friday raffle nights, or mentoring their team, our new publicans are always hands-on and heart-first.

This isn’t just about running a pub. It’s about creating a hub.

One that brings people together, celebrates local talent, and keeps the spirit of Buchan thriving.
